Mindfulness Programme (8 morning sessions) – Kilkenny
14/10/2019 –
This eight-week introduction to Mindfulness will give participants an understanding of what Mindfulness is and how we can integrate it into our daily lives. Mindfulness involves consciously bringing our awareness to the here and now, with acceptance, tolerance and patience. Jon Kabat-Zinn, a world authority on the use of mindfulness, describes mindfulness as: “paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment – and non-judgementally.”
This workshop will explore the following: What Mindfulness is and how we can use it to benefit our lives, Abdominal breathing technique – using the breath as a tool. Various meditations including the body-scan and three-minute breathing space. Understanding stress and how it can colour our thinking. Stress management techniques – how to reduce and minimise stress. Mindfulness and our thinking patterns: neuro-pathways, habits and how to create change. Mindfulness and emotions: listening, accepting and letting our emotions flow. The nine attitudes of Mindfulness, and the practice of gratitude.
Being mindful helps us to focus our attention, increases our energy and motivation, helps us to think and feel more positively about our lives, reduces stress and creates more harmony and balance in our lives.
