Coping with Loss (Morning workshop) – Kilkenny
24/10/2019 –
Loss is a part of life. It comes in many forms and everyone reacts differently. Living with loss can be hard, especially in the beginning. Any meaningful loss requires us to cope and imagine a new, changed future. Even when the change is positive, like moving away to start college, it can be hard at first to leave the familiar behind and embrace a new start.
This workshop explores the journey of loss for individuals who have experienced loss in various ways not just through death. It will illustrate ways that can enhance coping for the individual. The workshop will help participants to understand the normal reactions associated with loss and explore how reactions can be more complex and require greater interventions. Participants will have an opportunity for reflection on the impact of loss in one’s life through shared conversations and discussions. This shared learning will allow for an enriched experience of this difficult area in a safe setting.
